The purest form of love is one that we do not always expect. It might be from a stranger or a random person. Love means different things to different people. In the spirit of Valentine, we have compiled stories from 5 different people on their best love experiences.

One that stood out to me was from a girl when I was in secondary school. It was just a random day in my school, nothing special was going on and it was not my birthday. This lady was a friend but not a close friend so I wasn't expecting anything from her or even anybody. That day she just came to meet me and told me she likes me and wanted to surprise me. She gave me a cake, bought a dress for me and gave me other things that I can't remember now. I felt so loved that day and the love was so genuine knowing that it wasn't from my family, my close friends, or even a guy.

This happened during my birthday. This man legit made my birthday last for an entire month. On the first day of the month, he sent me money that was equal to the age I was turning with extra zeros. Then on the actual day of my birthday, he had food trays and cake delivered to me with the help of my friends. Then the next day, he sent me a small chops package and also got me an AirPods Pro.

After that, he told me that he had organized a vacation for us on the Island at Lagos that lasted for a week. We stayed in a hotel for that period enjoying ourselves to the fullest. We went on a date to a top-notch restaurant, went to an arcade, attended a private drama screening, and went to this crazy-lit party during that week. I can’t really mention every activity that we did, but long story short we had the most amazing time. Another thing, during our vacation, he got me a belly massager and heater to help with my cramps.

It happened when we were still in Iwo. We had just finished a class, and I was so stressed that day. I even had a headache. I spoke to my friend about my day and how tired I was. He sent me dollars, which made me happy because I wasn't expecting it.

I broke my arm. I was home alone and I had to go to the hospital alone. I got to the hospital around 9 pm. When I got there, I was told I had to eat before using drugs or anything. I was stranded at that point because I was not with my atm card or money. Everything was just against me that day. I called this girl I was talking to. We had just met and started talking. Honestly, I wasn't sure she was going to come but I tried my luck. Then she drove down to the hospital around 10 pm and brought me food. I was shocked because she didn't know me so well, yet, she came that late!

I was still in secondary school, SS2. I was turning 17 at the time. I woke up that day to no birthday wishes from my family. Meanwhile, I had been talking about my birthday a week before. But nobody remembered. I got to school and none of my friends remembered too. That day was just so off. There was this girl I was on a talking stage with at that time. She was the only one who remembered my birthday and wished me. She got me gifts and gave me a ring. I still wear the ring today. People started wishing me the next day though.

Mine was so random and unexpected. It's the most recent one I can remember. We had just resumed for the year, and I had paid part of my school fees, but it was not up to 50%. I was not allowed to stay inside the school because of the whole money issue. I was honestly so sad and angry. I was angry that I resumed early just to face this hostel wahala. I was trying to look for money from my end while staying in a temporary hostel. Then my friend messaged me to ask about the whole situation. I told her I was hustling for the money because it wasn't too much. This girl legit asked me how much the money was and sent it to me. She wasn't even my close friend. It was so touching. I can't explain how I felt, but I definitely felt loved.

6 different people, 6 different stories, but none of them involved Valentine's Day. Love is something that should always be expressed to others regardless of the occasion. Every day, show others you care.
